Thanks to Limbitless Solutions and Robert Downey Jr., a 7-year-old boy named Alex recently received a 3D-printed Iron Man prosthetic arm.
Albert Manero, a doctoral student in mechanical engineering and a Fulbright scholar from the University of Central Florida, heads Limbitless Solutions, which uses 3D-printing to develop free prosthetics for children.
Amazingly, Alex’s arm needed just $350 for materials, compared to conventional electronic prosthetic arms that can cost upwards of $10,000.
