Hoverball is a new drone sports ball under development at the University of Tokyo and could potentially lead to cool developments in the sports world.
Essentially, Hoverball is a plastic, remote-controlled ball that utilizes a 90-millimeter wide drone to stay in the air for short periods of time. While it can stay in the air upwards of five minutes, the ball is also practical for use on the ground.
If the ball is a success and becomes popular, expect many insane sports to be invented that utilize a ball that doesn’t necessarily ever have to touch the ground.
