Once again, news of another major advancement in “soft robotics” is here, this time revolving around bendy, lego-like blocks developed by George Whitesides and his team at Harvard University.
Their new invention is called “click-e-bricks”, which are essentially flexible plastic elastomeric bricks that could shape the future of construction.
Right now, the blocks are still in development and undergoing testing but the hope is the bricks can eventually be used as self-replicating robots capable of constructing things on their own.
This would allow for super efficient, immediate repairs across many different industries.
