Companies developing more efficient and practical manufacturing plants now have the ability to work with architects and design specialists to visualize and modify power, processing, and mining plant design blueprints with a new application called Everything3D Insight (E3D), designed by AVEVA.
AVEVA’s E3D Insight is a Windows 8.1 application that allows corporate executives to view, comment, and modify live design models from any tablet device.
These capabilities make it easier for companies to spot federal regulation violations and flaws in the design to improve the final product before it goes into production. The designs can then be altered and changed accordingly so that the plant is up to regulatory standards and company expectations, reducing initial construction and long-term renovation costs for companies.
Previously, many companies have had trouble coordinating design efforts between departments and upper management through phone calls and emails.
This new application offers a secure way for all users to access design blueprints and work with architects and engineers hired to the project without any room for miscommunication. Information can be accessed at any time of the day from anywhere in the world as long as you have the application and were given authorization credentials from the project manager.
The new application was just released for commercial availability and has already won the UK Tech Innovation of the Year award.
The application can also be used on any touch screen laptop or television allowing you access to the project information and tools in a variety of different forms.
