Mercedes-Benz unveiled the Concept IAA, a silver bullet of a car that’s designed for maximum aerodynamic efficiency, in preparations for the Frankfurt Auto Show.
As long as you are driving below 50 mph, the car behaves relatively normally, but once you hit above 50 mph, a slew of panels deploy from the front, rear, and sides to reduce drag coefficient to 0.19.
Although it’s only a concept, the vehicle is actually closer to becoming a real car than most concepts manufacturers show off.
With a conventional 279-horsepower hybrid drivetrain, two 12.3-inch displays, and a steering wheel equipped with optical sensors, the Concept IAA’s features are actually practical.
A hyper-aerodynamic car with sensors that help you navigate the vehicle’s menu with your fingertips sounds like a dream come true to me!
